Critique & Proofreading
Taking your text to the next level
Writing a book and looking for constructive criticism of your draft? Then talk to me about my developmental editing services. You can also talk to authors such as Miles Masterson: I worked on his acclaimed surf book The Oom, which hit bookstore shelves in 2025.
While I love getting my teeth into a big book project, I also enjoy helping companies polish anything from blog posts to press releases.
If you're serious about your image - or that of your business - an editing process is important. Do it like the professionals!
This is particularly true if your text has been written by an amateur or a non-native speaker - or by AI.
And remember, just because someone speaks perfect English doesn't mean that will translate to paper. Writing is a tougher art. Don’t trust spell-check to clean things up: I’ve never yet seen one do the entire job properly.
This doesn’t just apply to substantial texts like white papers, annual reports or your ‘Letter from the CEO’ – it might just be a one-line advertising slogan. I’ve seen extremely large corporations – Raiffeisen Bank International for example – run billboards at airports featuring laughable English. They could have saved themselves the embarrassment if they had given me a call.
Your website is another key area where consistency and good, native-speaker English are important. GrowthSquare GmbH is just one example of a company whose web page I edited and polished after it had been written by non-native speakers and/or software! (I also took care of the translation into German.)
